Walk-in tubs feature watertight doors and low step-in thresholds to help users safely get into the bath. While different models vary in the features included, a walk-in tub’s basic function is similar across models. The user opens the door, gets inside, and fills the tub to their desired level. After the bath, the user drains the tub, opens the door, and walks out. The measurements of these tubs vary across models.

When one gets older or injured, using regular bathtubs or showers can prove quite challenging. If you have strained leg muscles, it is impossible to lift yourself over the threshold of conventional bathtubs. Walk-in tubs such as the Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub are designed to alleviate these problems. Featuring numerous safety and convenience features, these tubs are incredibly easy to use for the target customers. Some even have features to allow wheelchair transfer for use by disabled people.

However, like most other bath products, choosing the right model can be quite challenging. But do not worry. Our Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub review will help you figure out whether it could be the ideal walk-in tub for you or your loved one.

Overview

The Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub is designed with comfort and ease of use in mind. An excellent walk-in tub should keep the user safe and remain usable for years. Here is an outline of the tub’s main advantages and disadvantages.

What is the Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub Made of?

The Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub is constructed from premium Gelcoat and includes high-quality, easy-to-use button controls. There are also additional safety items on the tub, including chrome water drains and a safety grab bar. The manufacturer includes a 5-year warranty on parts and a 10-year warranty on the tub shell to underline the tub’s quality.

Our Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub Review

I suffered a broken leg a few months ago, and it drastically changed my daily routine to fit my condition. The first change I decided to make was to get a walk-in tub to make bath time easier before my leg healed. Upon a friend’s recommendation, I decided to get the Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub. I have been using the product for about 13 weeks now and have gained first-hand experience with the tub.

I will review the tub focusing on four main attributes; quality, safety, value for money, and features. I know different users might have varying experiences due to their particular usage habits or requirements. Remember that every opinion I will give in this review is solely based on my first-hand 13-week experience with the Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub.

Features (8.7/10)

The Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub is not as feature-packed as other models I had viewed on the internet. However, I was less interested in the bells and whistles as I was in function. The tub comes with an amazing massage system featuring eight separate water jets. It also has a nifty handheld shower wand that I frequently use.

Even on lower power settings, the water jets are extremely powerful, an attribute that I have really come to love. There is also an inbuilt water heater that maintains my preferred water temperature. There are also jets entirely dedicated to a leg-only massage, although these are a little weaker than the other jets. Overall, I am satisfied with the features available on the Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub. Still, I would not precisely call it feature-packed since I have seen other models with far more features.

Safety (8.9/10)

With the Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub, a user’s safety is very well taken care of. To start with, the tub features a super-low 5-inch step-in threshold for super easy access. This is one of the lowest entries I came across during my search for a walk-in tub. There is also a stainless-steel grab bar that reassures my grip as I get into the tub. These safety features are further supplemented by a slip-resistant floor that I find quite reassuring as I take my bath.

The Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub also features great sealing to prevent inadvertent spills into other sections of your bathrooms. I would have loved to see a grab rail around the entire tub to further reduce the chances of an accidental slip.

Quality (9.0/10)

The Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub is made using Gelcoat Fiberglass. The faucets, knobs, and other components are made using high-quality metal alloys. Quite frankly, I prefer the feel of acrylic on walk-in tubs to that of fiberglass. However, I have not had any quality-related issues with my Mecor tub. Having the drains made from polished chrome is a nice touch since most manufacturers tend to put cheap-feeling plastic on this part.

The entire surface of the Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub feels well-made and easy to clean. This would explain why the manufacturer confidently offers 10-year and 5-year warranties on the shell and components, respectively.

Value for Money (9.2/10)

The Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub is not priced as high as some alternatives. For this reason, I am delighted and satisfied with my purchase. While it may lack the bells and whistles that come with other models, it does what it’s meant to exceptionally well. The installation is a tad complicated, but that is the case with pretty much any walk-in tub I considered before buying the Mecor.

I have seen several people complain about the slow fill-up rate, but I find that the tub fills up acceptably fast when using the optional handheld showerhead. Overall, this product has excellent value for money, and on this attribute alone, I would gladly recommend this to anyone wanting to buy a walk-in tub. If the materials used to make the shell prove durable, then I will gladly give this product a perfect value for money score. I still feel like I have reservations about the Gelcoat Fiberglass.

Final Verdict 9.0

One would be hard-pressed to find any fault with the Mecor Walk-in Whirlpool Bathtub especially considering its relatively low price. Those looking for a feature-packed walk-in tub will most probably be disappointed. However, if you are looking for a no-frills product, you will not go wrong with the Mecor. It scores particularly high on the overall build quality and value for money. I felt inclined to give it less than stellar scores on safety and features since many walk-in tubs have better specs.

After evaluating the Mecor’s upsides and downsides, I gave it a final score of 9.0/10. It is a great all-around product that I would gladly recommend to anyone.
